Rear View Smile
I've tried this shot a few times in the past and it never seemed to work. Yesterday it worked pretty well. These days when I park in our driveway the kids will unbuckle themselves and pop up between the two front seats. What makes this shot work better than my previous attempts is our new car, maybe the most expensive prop I've ever used. Our new car has a sunroof, and when he popped up to see me the soft overcast light coming through the sunroof lit up his face beautifully. Since I was out shooting Fall color before picking him up, my camera was out on the front seat with my Lensbaby attached. I turned up the radio and we started dancing around in the car and it turned out to be a neat little shot. A good example preparation meeting opportunity.
